  • You must supervise and attend to your child at all times.
  • You can bring a child of any age from six weeks, so long as you have received clearance from your GP or midwife to begin exercising.
  •  If your child is crawling/toddling we ask you to bring some toys/snacks to keep them entertained and remember to always keep an eye on them.

Studio Etiquette

A smile, an open mind and some positive vibes.

We recommend you bring a mat, towel and water. However, we also have a few spare mats if you don’t have one. As well as a jumper for Yin/Stretch classes.

Wear something you feel comfortable in, gives you full range of movement and you don’t mind getting a little sweaty. Stretchy pants or leggings, singlets are all great options. Socks are fine too, but we recommend wearing ones with grippy bottoms.

The studio will be open 15 mins before each class starts. Please arrive no later than 5 mins before class starts so our teacher can check you in.

You will also have time to;

  • remove your shoes
  • silence your phone
  • set up your mat
  • grab equipment for class

All of our classes end with stretching and a moment of relaxation. This part is just as important as your practice as it helps your body absorb all you have just done as well as reset the body back to your parasympathetic state.

If you wish to leave sooner, please do so quietly before relaxation begins.

Please also return any equipment you may have before leaving.

We do not have a creche for young children; however, children over the age of 12 are welcome to practice with the supervision of a parent.

Children between 12-17 can attend regular classes at concession price. This membership is not available online but can be organised in studio.  Please email us if you have any questions.

Any children under 12 we recommend bring to our Family Friendly Classes instead.

Studio & Location

You can find us at the Helensvale Plaza. Located upstairs on level one, access to the stairs is on the outside of the centre in between Bendigo Bank and BWS.

Yes! There is lots of parking at the plaza!

We do not currently have shower facilities, but there are public bathrooms in the centre if needed to change and freshen up.

Health & Well-being

Please seek advice from your GP or midwife before starting something new in pregnancy, as well receiving clearance before returning after birth.

Once you have clearance to practice, the best news is that all of our instructors are pregnancy-safe exercise trained and qualified and we have supported many of our female members throughout their whole pregnancy and again after Bub is born. We adjust all of our classes to ensure they are safe for who is in the room. This means all you need to do is check in with the instructor at the beginning of class and we will provide all modifications for you. ‘

One of the best classes for pregnancy is Barre (especially in the 3rd trimester, as most of the class is done upright), as well as a slow flow or stretch yoga would be ideal to help keep your body open, without the risk of over stretching whilst you have all the hormones relaxing in your body.

All of our classes offer modifications to cater to different fitness levels and we actively encourage participants to take as many breaks as needed throughout the class. We understand that everyone has their own pace and we want you to feel comfortable and at ease during your workouts.

Power Pilates can seem scary but it’s actually really fun, they are faster paced classes but they are still low-impact and able to be modified for beginners.

Regardless of which class you choose, we encourage you to have a conversation with the instructor before the session. Let them know that it’s your first time and that you’re new to the Studio and they will be happy to assist you and additional guidance you may need.

We look forward to having you in the Studio and supporting you on your journey. If you have further questions, please email info@balancelane.com or head to our Contact tab at the top of the page.

Absolutely! You don’t need to be flexible to start practicing Yoga. In fact, Yoga is a great way to improve your flexibility over time. Our classes cater to all levels, including beginners and our teachers will be able to guide you through poses and assist with modifications and adjustments to help you safely and comfortably enjoy your practice, gradually increasing your flexibility and mobility over time.

Remember, Yoga is not about achieving perfect poses to comparing yourself to others, it’s about connecting with your body, breath and mind and embracing where you are in your practice. So, whether you’re a beginner or an experienced Yogi, there’s a place for you in our classes.
